The Return

Coming Back to the Hive, Together

Return to ASU is built around reunion, remembrance, fellowship, and our shared Kappa Chapter connection to Alabama State University. The weekend centers the Imps and Emeralds, welcomes family, and keeps the schedule, hotel, activity RSVPs, and gear in one place.

Legacy

Saturday’s postgame tribute honors our Living Legends and includes a presentation of the Onslow “Sonic Boom” Smith Scholarship Foundation.

Fellowship

The Residence Inn Downtown Montgomery is the weekend headquarters and meeting base for Brothers, Emeralds, family, and meet & greets.

Saturday is the heart of the weekend: Homecoming in Montgomery, our reserved tailgate on campus, ASU vs. Florida A&M, and a postgame tribute to the Brothers and Emeralds who carry our legacy.

  2. Tailgate Reception Opens

    A reserved campus tailgate area located at the south end of the ASU stadium behind the goal posts will host the catered gathering throughout the morning and into the evening.

    On the menu: chicken wings, hamburgers, fish, French fries, and coleslaw, plus special ribs prepared by Ralph Portis.

    Homecoming kickoff at ASU Stadium. Football tickets are purchased separately and are not included in Return to ASU registration.

No. Football tickets are purchased separately. Contact Tori Ford at 334-604-8066; tickets are being reserved under Ralph Portis & Phi Eta Psi Fraternity. Ask for seats together in the lower level, around the 45–50 yard line.

Order by September 24, 2026 through the Phi Eta Psi collection. Tees are $30, hoodies $60, and jackets $110. Orders are made directly through Brother Shanta Smith (808-308-8792) and shipped to you.

Yes, but golf requires an advance reservation. Tee time is Friday, October 9 at 8:00 AM at Lagoon Park. Select golf in your Activity RSVP so organizers can reserve your spot; rental clubs are limited.

The “Cool Down Jazz” Barbecue is from 4:00–7:00 PM at the home of Cheryl & Ralph Portis. Because it is a private residence, the address is shared directly with registered attendees.
